Floating Art Exhibition to Celebrate Gulf Islands Water Taxi’s 40 Years of Service, On August 24th to 25th in Ganges Harbour, Salt Spring Island
Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, July 20, 2018 – Floating Art Exhibition To Mark 40 Years On The Water For A Unique Salt Spring Island Transportation Company.
With its vessels converted to galleries, Gulf Islands Water Taxi is proud to present a floating art exhibition featuring the ocean and islands inspired original artworks of company owner, Jack Hughes. There could not be a more apt venue for this celebration for Jack, who has spent so many years on the waters, travelling between the islands of this beautiful region. We warmly invite family, friends, and Gulf Islands communities to the harbour on August 24th and 25th, as the company and its crews reach the milestone of 40 years of riding the waves.

Aboard the water taxis in Ganges Harbour, Salt Spring Island
(Dock directly below the Oystercatcher restaurant in Ganges Village)
August 24, Friday from 10am until evening.
August 25, Saturday, from 9am to 5pm.
*Artworks will be available for sale at the venue.
About the Company:
Gulf Islands Water Taxi, Ltd. is a commercial marine transportation company based in Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. The company serves the communities of the Southern Gulf Islands, from the waters of the Salish Sea, ranging from Nanaimo to the north, and Victoria to the south. Each year, our vessels transport the students of School District 64 from Galiano, Mayne, Pender, and Saturna islands to and from their schools on Salt Spring Island. Our commercial vessels operate in support of deep sea ships and the British Columbia Coastal Pilots, provide marine medevacs as part of the BC Emergency Health Services operations, as well as inter-island transportation for residents and visitors to the Southern Gulf Islands.
